FAQs
How do I know which therapist to book with?
Research highlights a strong link between therapeutic alliance and positive change. We recommend you read through our team member’s profiles and choose someone who resonates with your way of being and has experience working with your concerns.
Do you offer telehealth or virtual sessions?
We currently offer both face-to-face sessions in Calgary and virtual sessions (online therapy) to all Albertans, as Alberta psychologists from our location in Calgary AB.
Many clients report that virtual sessions provide convenience and increased flexibility. Online therapy or online counselling, can be very rewarding and successful as you are in your own home.
What can I expect during the initial session?
Upon booking and prior to attending your first session, you will be prompted to complete some online forms which include providing consent to therapy.
Our therapists understand that it can feel awkward sharing personal information with a stranger, so will prioritize your comfort. You are in control of what and how much you are comfortable sharing. During this first meeting, your therapist will discuss confidentiality, gather demographic information, review payment, and cancelation policies, and explore current concerns and goals.
Do you direct bill to insurance companies?
Yes. We direct bill to both Alberta Blue Cross and Green Shield.
For all other insurance companies, the detailed receipt you will receive for our services has all the information required for reimbursement once you submit it to your insurance provider.
What are the fees and forms of payment accepted?
For hourly billing rates, please refer to our booking site by clicking, "Book Online" above.
Additional charges will apply for phone calls, letter writing, and form completion, at the billing rate per hour, or a portion thereof.
Fees may be paid by cash, credit, or e-transfer.
A valid credit card is required on file in order to confirm and hold your appointment.
Payment is due on the date of your appointment.
Are there cancellation fees?
Our therapists understand that life circumstances can sometimes get in the way of planned appointments. Unfortunately, it is difficult to provide necessary services to our other clients when we do not have a reasonable amount of time to reschedule.
We have a 24-hour cancellation policy in place for you to cancel/reschedule your appointment. You will incur a 50% fee for those sessions canceled within less than 24hrs. You will incur a full session charge for no-shows.
What therapy types does your team offer?
Here is a list of therapies, mental health treatment types, and session types that we offer.
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- EMDR
- Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
- Family Counselling
- Emotion Focused Therapies - including Family
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
- Solution Focused Brief Therapy
